Two LPSD principals, Hennessy Melancon of Golden Meadow Middle School and Dr. Decina Rodriguez of Lockport Middle School, recently represented the Lafourche Parish School District at the 73rd annual Louisiana Association of Principals Administrators’ Conference in Baton Rouge.
Dr. Rodriguez was honored as the 2025 Louisiana Middle School Principal of the Year, and Mr. Melancon, an officer on the board of directors, was elected President and will serve as President of the organization for the 2025-2026 year.
“When you have that kind of support around you, the students can’t help but succeed. And so they truly are succeeding,” said Dr. Rodriguez in a July interview. “Our kids are amazing. They really are.”
