GATR Coolers First Responder Friday | November 1 from 9 – 10:30 a.m.– GATR Coolers will host First Responder Friday, where all local first responders are invited to stop in (1635 St. Patrick Street in Thibodaux) for complimentary coffee and breakfast pastries, courtesy of Community Coffee and Spahr’s Seafood.

Market at the Marina | November 2, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Terrebonne General Health System and the Houma Downtown Development Association will host Market at the Marina this Saturday rain or shine. This month’s market will feature over 20 farmer’s market and craft vendors! Market at the Marina is teaming up with the Marine Corps Reserve for their annual Toys for Tots Drive. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to help make this season bright for children in need.
This month, Marina Sprouts, sponsored by Terrebonne General Pediatric Care, will have kids’ games and physical activities. St. Matthew’s Episcopal School STEM Lab will have engaging activities for kids to explore and experiment. BBQ, Bourbon and Blues Festival | November 2 from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.– Lafourche Arc is proud to present the BBQ, Bourbon, and Blues Festival at the Warren J Harang Auditorium in Thibodaux! The smell of smokey barbeque, soulful sounds of blues bands and smooth tasty bourbon will appeal to all the senses. The BBQ, Bourbon, and Blues Festival will feature live music by Tyron Benoit, RKG, Snapper and the Fishsticks, and the Canebreakers. There will also be local mom-and-pop and large-chain vendors grilling delicious BBQ during the festival, as well as a BBQ cook-off competition. The festival will also include the Juke Joint Tent, where participants 21 and over may purchase a ticket to taste 30 different kinds of bourbon. General Admission tickets are $10; tickets to the Bourbon Juke Joint are $100.

Southdown Marketplace | November 2 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.– With more than 300 local and national vendors, the Artisan Craft Show has something for everyone. The show will feature unique and hand-made items including, jewelry, clothing, wood crafts, original art, garden items, seasonal items, and more. In addition, delicious foods and beverages will be available for purchase. Admission is $5 per person, with proceeds benefiting the non-profit Terrebonne Historical & Cultural Society and Southdown Plantation & Museum.

Live Well Bayou Event | November 2 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.– Community members are invited to come take charge of their own health on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM at Terrebonne General (8200 Main Street in Houma). The Live Well Bayou event will provide free cancer screenings for breast, colorectal, prostate, and skin cancer, as well as blood pressure and glucose checks. There will also be music and fun activities for the entire family to enjoy!

TPPL Annual Spelling Bee | November 2 from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.– Something’s abuzz here at the Terrebonne Parish Public Library! The Friends of the Terrebonne Public Library will host their annual Spelling Bee Saturday, November 2, at the Main Library (151 Library Drive). Grade level and all-age competitions will have prizes for winners in each category and a supporting competitive environment for all. Proceeds from the Annual Spelling Bee will go towards the Friends of the Terrebonne Public Library to help provide high quality programming for the community. School-aged children are encouraged to participate for an interactive learning experience, and adults can compete in the Open Competition at 2 p.m. Participants can sign up the day of the event 30 minutes before their level competes:

  • Level 1 (Grades 1–2) $2 (9:30 AM)
  • Level 2 (Grades 3–4) $2 (11 AM)
  • Level 3 (Grades 5–6) $2 (1 PM)
  • Open Competition (All ages) $3 (2 PM)

Get Out and Fish! LDWF Event November 3 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.– The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) and Bogue Chitto State Park invite you to Get Out & Fish! this November. Come out and learn how to fish with LDWF staff and volunteers that will be available to teach the skills necessary to give you the best opportunity to catch fish– from lessons on bait choice, tackle setup, casting, and knot tying to fishing techniques, landing, handling and taking the fish off the hook, we have you covered. This event will take place from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Bogue Chitto State Park in Franklinton, Louisiana. Participants 18 and older must possess a valid Louisiana fishing license available for purchase online here. Don’t forget to bring an ice chest to keep your catch.
