January 17, 2021Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 368,980. That’s 4,122 more cases since Friday. 326,101 are confirmed; 42,879 are probable.
New deaths reported today reflect deaths reported to LDH since 1/14/2021.
The state is reporting 123 new deaths, bringing the total to 8,203 deaths. 7,742 are confirmed; 461 are probable.
The total of presumed recovered as of 1/11/21 is 298,614, which is 18,241 more than last week.
Lafourche Parish is reporting, 7,378 cases. There are 5,971 confirmed and 1,407 probable. That’s 69 new cases since Friday. They are reporting 169 deaths; 161 are confirmed and 8 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 31-Jan. 6 is 11.80%, up 9.26% from the week prior, which was 10.80%. Incidence is 540.18.
Terrebonne Parish is reporting 7,586 cases. There are 6,397 confirmed and 1,189 probable. That’s 89 more cases since Friday. They are reporting 163 deaths; 154 are confirmed and 9 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Dec. 31-Jan. 6 is 14.30%, down 10.63% from the week prior, which was 16.00%. Incidence is 528.73.
Statewide, there are 1,930 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 237 are on ventilators. That’s 71 less patients since Friday, and 5 less on ventilators.
The total of tests reported today is 4,892,815, which is 49,580 more tests than Friday. There are 4,595,467 molecular tests and 297,348 antigen tests.
There have been a total of 88,899 tests in Lafourche (80,372 molecular and 8,527 antigen) and 87,077 tests in Terrebonne (80,883 molecular and 6,194 antigen). That’s 969 more tests in Lafourche and 1,015 more in Terrebonne since yesterday.
