The National Weather Service New Orleans has announced that the National Hurricane Center is monitoring the western Caribbean for possible tropical cyclone development.

The National Hurricane Center has indicated a Medium (40%) chance of development within the next 7 days.

“The latest tropical outlook shows a busy Atlantic basin,” reads a Facebook post from the National Weather Service New Orleans. “The really nice weather we are having may get people thinking that tropical troubles are behind us, but remember the tropical season goes through November.”

While it is too far in advance to determine where the system may eventually move, it is important to stay aware of any potential local impacts. Please follow and share official sources, monitor the forecast for changes, and review your plans before they are needed.
