Adam “Gil” Gilmore Newchurch Jr., 87, a native and resident of Paincourtville, La., died at 8:30 p.m. Friday, August 29.
He is survived by one son, Kirk Newchurch and wife Danette; one stepson, Joe Lucio; one daughter, Terry Mabile and husband Charles; two brothers, Frank Newchurch and wife Agnes, and Paul Sylvester Newchurch and wife Joan; one sister, Mary Davis and husband Eugene; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Camilla Theriot Newchurch; his parents, Adam G. Newchurch Sr. and Victoria Passantino; one brother, Arthur “Cooper” Newchurch; and one sister, Lucy Mae Gros.
He was a kind and loving man who will be sadly missed by his family.
A memorial service will be at 8 a.m. Friday, October 10, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville. He will be buried at the church cemetery.
Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
