Allen J. Gisclair, 82, a native of Cut Off, La., and a resident of Galliano, La., died Thursday, August 23, 2007, at 12:15 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Levinia “Mia” Gisclair; three daughters, Carol LaFont, Donna Lee, and Sandy Vedros; two brothers, Duroc and Alton Gisclair; one sister, Gernice Bourg; two half-sisters, Mary Ann Fillinich and Gloria Terrebonne; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Lucreitia Cheramie Gisclair; his step-mother, Anita Guidry Gisclair; one son, Ronald Gisclair; one daughter, Patricia “Patsy” Gisclair Borne; two brothers, Morison and Joseph Gisclair; one step-brother, Eugene LaBiche; one step-sister, Louella Autin; and one half-sister, Doloris Gisclair.
Allen was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. He was a United States Army veteran who served his country during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #315. He was a boat owner and Captain.
Visitation is Sunday, August 26, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and August 27, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off, with the funeral to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He will be buried in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
