Alvin Matthews Sr., 47, a native of Valentine, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
Mr. Matthews enjoyed fishing and cooking.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Matthews; sons, Kenya and Malik Oliver and Alvin Matthews Jr.; daughters, Beatrice and De’on Mathews; brothers, Joseph, Burnell, Egerald (Anica) and Henry (Debra) Matthews; and sisters, Annie Celestine, Rita Matthews and De’on (Bryan) Guidroz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Beatrice Matthews and sister, Dorothy Mayer.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Community Funeral Home with services to follow. (Community)
