Ambert J. Angelette Jr., 86, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Larose, La., died Friday, Aug. 21, at 4:23 a.m.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Genevieve Duet Angelette; one son, Gary A. Angelette and wife Gwen; one daughter, Donna Lou Angelette Gremillion and husband Ray; one brother, Steve Angelette; three sisters, Natalie Angelette Toups, Laurina Angelette Eymard and Eloise Angelette Cheramie; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambert Angelette Sr. and Nathalie Guidry Angelette; one brother, Roy Angelette Sr.; and one sister, Yvonne Angelette Harvey.
He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps as a sergeant in the 371st Fighter Squadron. He was a member of the American Legion Post 259 in Golden Meadow and enjoyed fishing. He was a devoted husband and loving father who enjoyed spending time with his family.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano, La., with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cut Off, La.
