Dove looking ahead to improving Terrebonne’s many ongoing projects
January 6, 2016Anthony Pizzolatto, 95, a native of Abbeville, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, Jan. 1, 2016.
Mr. Pizzolatto worked for Butane and, later, was a self-employed plumber, operating A & J Plumbing and Heating Service. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942-45 and was a veteran of World War II. Bishop Hanna appointed him a Eucharistic minister for St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, where he was a parishioner. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 3700 where he served many offices, including commander. He was also a member of American Legion, Post 31, and a Terrebonne General Medical Center volunteer.
He is survived by daughters, Mary Lou Pizzolatto, Antionette Guidry and Cynthia Templet; companion, Eunice J. Allemand; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 8, at Chauvin Funeral Home and on Saturday, Jan. 9, at 8 to 10 a.m., at St. Gregory Barbarigo. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis De Sales Cemetery No. 2.
