Arthur Joseph “Coco” Buquet Sr., 76, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, January 21, 2008, at 8:00 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Elma Blazey Buquet; son, Gene Buquet; daughter-in-law, Judy Ryman Buquet; daughter, Leslie Fedele; grandchildren, Dale Marie Thibodeaux Ryman, Christina B. Verdin, Gene David Buquet, Jr., Vesta, Phillip and Jessica Maronge, Gerald Jr. and India Ann Thibodeaux, Jammie Lynn Buquet and Jade Mary Fedele; brother-in-law, Joe Schouest Sr; sister, Juanita B. Schouest; and sister-in-law, Louise Buquet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dovie and Lillian Hebert Buquet; sons, Arthur Jr. and Dale John Buquet; brothers, Ardie and Warren Buquet; and sisters, Rose Mary Bergeron, Margaret Chatagnier and Gloria “Tina” Buquet.
Arthur was a parishioner of Holy Family Church. He also served in the Army during the Korean War and was a commercial fisherman.
The family is accepting donations to help defer the funeral expenses.
Visitation is 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Falgout Funeral Home’s chapel and 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2008 at Holy Family Church with the funeral to follow. He will be buried at Holy Family Cemetery.
