Tourney gives teams early look at competition
December 29, 2009Australia Toups Comeaux, 89, a native of Galliano, La., and resident of Larose, La., died at 2:16 p.m. Friday, Dec. 25, 2009.
Mrs. Comeaux was a deputy for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office for 14 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Ladies Altar Society and Larose Senior Center.
She is survived by sons, Norris (Gloria), Ronald (Katherine Dupre), Perry (Faith) and Keith (Adene Toups) Comeaux; daughter, Elizabeth (Ray Ford) Bagley; sister, Mildred (Antoine) Doucet; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O’Neil “Pet Cream” Comeaux; parents, Cledmire and Julianne Martinez Toups; sons, Curtis and Riley Comeaux; daughter, Anna Dean Encalade; three infant children; brothers, Cledmire and Harold Toups; and three grandchildren, Kurt and Kenneth Comeaux and Mickey Ford.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
She will be buried at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Larose.
