Barry Jude “Bubbles” Champagne, 56, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, February 8, at 12:14 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Hebert Champagne of Houma; parents, Thaddeus J. and Ella Mae Chauvin Champagne; son, Richard Champagne of Houma; daughters, Monica Nancy Trahan and husband Tommy, and Peggy Aucoin and husband Tony, all of Houma; brother, Chris Champagne of Glendale, Ca.; stepbrothers, Steven, David and Rick Marcel, all of Houma; stepsisters, Amy St. Martin, Debra Champagne and Cathy Jerveaux, all of Houma; stepmother, Lydia Theriot Champagne of Houma; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends; and his beloved pets, Chili and Lucky.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda LeBlanc; and grandparents, Leonce P. and Santia Duplantis Champagne and Lucius J. and Olivia Picou Chauvin.
He was a licensed aircraft mechanic for Shannon Seaplane Base and was a founding member of EAA Chapter No. 513. He loved to fly and fish and had a passion for restoring old cars.. He was an aerial coordinator on six major movies which took him around the world. He loved his family and friends very much. He was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church.
