Beatrice “Bum” Smith Blanchard, 96, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, August 15.

She is survived by two sons, John Blanchard and Tommy Blanchard; one daughter, Susan Fournier; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Blanchard; her parents, Ozema Smith and Agnes Eschete Smith; one son, Timothy Reginald Blanchard; three brothers, Eddie Smith, Xavier Smith and Johnny Smith; and three sisters, Olmphia Porche, Ida Wilson and Lulu Parrington.

She was a homemaker and parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, with burial at Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
