February 14, 2011Bernice Crochet Henry, 97, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 7:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011.
Mrs. Henry was a longtime employee of Barbara’s Youth Shop of Houma, a volunteer at Terrebonne General Medical Center and Southdown Museum, a member of the Catholic Daughters and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and a longtime parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Peggy) and Camile (Joyce) Henry; six grandchildren, Mark (Bette) and David (Dawn) Henry, Patricia (David) Wojahn, Mary “Liz” (Ronnie) Matherne, and Sharon and Michael (Tanya) Henry; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Camille Henry; parents, Joseph and Clothilde Junie Crochet; two sisters, Orelia Hebert and Rosadell Larter; and two brothers, Howard and Curll Crochet.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and employees of Heritage Manor Nursing Home and to Lois Arnold and other employees of St. Catherine’s Hospice.
She is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. (Chauvin)
