Bert Paul Knight, 80, a native of Mathews, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010.

He was a member of the American Legion of Raceland Post 349, as well as the 40-and-8, Lion’s and Raceland Grand Marshal clubs. He was a third degree Knight of Columbus. His hobbies were sports and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Leafy Foret Knight; son, Michael (Amie) Knight; daughters, Debra Knight, Karen (Rudy) Foret, Angela (Mark) Guillot and Sandy Knight; brothers, Leroy, Wade and Chester Knight; sisters, Marylee Bourgeois and Clarice Fournier; and eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Mass donations are appreciated.

He is buried at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church Cemetery.
