December 17, 2013Bessie Campeau Claudet, 99, a native and resident of Lockport, La., died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013.
Mrs. Claudet was a most loving mother and homemaker. She traveled to many countries but she liked home best. She loved to cook and delighted with those enjoying her meals. She also enjoyed playing cards and helping out at the local hospital. She was a devout Catholic and devoted to St. Joseph.
She is survived by her children, Claudette Caldwell, Louise (Avie) Bourg, Geri (Richard) Munson, Aman Jr. (Elizabeth), Michel (Diane) and Rene (Barbara) Claudet, Mary (Peter) Martinez and Denise (Robert) Rome; sisters, Elsie Rupe and Rita Crumhorn; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aman Claudet; parents, Lucius Campeau and Edna Foret; and siblings, Edna Boudreaux, Beulah Schermer, L.V. Jr., Nolan and Daisy Campeau, Wilma Callaway and Sadie Stewart.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport with mass to follow. Interment will be at the church cemetery.
