Beulah Petit Melvin, 94, a native of Larose, La., and a resident of Cut Off, La., died Tuesday, August 21, 2007.
She is survived by her son, Melvin Adams and his wife Louise; four grandchildren, Julie Peltier and her husband Timothy, Merwyn “Mel” Melvin III and his wife Marcie, Vincent Melvin and his wife Daphne, and Aaron “Bogie” Melvin and his wife Charlene; and nine great-grandchildren, Edward Schertler II, Philip Peltier, Marie Peltier, Brittany Melvin, Mathew Melvin, Nicholas Melvin, Clare Melvin, Andrew Melvin, and Ellen Melvin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O.T. Melvin, Jr.; her parents, Armand and Adelina Authement Petit II; one grandson, Andrew Melvin, two great-granddaughters, Emily and Sarah Melvin; one brother Armand Petit III, one sister, Bellah DeFelice.
Beulah was a devout Catholic. She was a teacher for 33 years in Larose.
Visitation is Saturday, August 25, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. She will be buried in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church, P.O. Box 10 Larose or St. Stanislaus College Prep, 304 South Beach Blvd., Bayou St. Louis, Ms. 309520.
