Brittany Kay Braxton, 23, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, Aug. 9.
She is survived by one daughter, Lillian Grace Sherwood of Denham Springs, La.; sister and best friend, Courtney Braxton of Houma; three sisters, Camille Braxton, Callie Mae Braxton and Cambri Braxton, all of West Monroe, La.; one step-sister, Racheal Hebert of Baton Rouge, La.; one brother, Canen Braxton of West Monroe; one step-brother, Bradley Hebert of Houma; mother, Edith Campbell Hebert and husband John of Houma; father, Clay Braxton and wife Ursula Braxton of West Monroe; two grandmothers, Irma Campbell of Houma and Virginia Braxton of Cottondale Fla.; one niece, Brianna Hughes of Houma; companion, Chad Sherwood of Denham Springs; and numerous aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Matthew Hughes; and two grandfathers, C.F. Braxton and James Campbell.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Houma. She was a former cheerleader, soccer player, member of Delta Zeta Sorority and a Campus for Christ member.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Chauvin Funeral Home. A religious service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Houma with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
