August 12, 2010Bruce Joseph Pellegrin Sr., 85, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010.
Mr. Pellgrin co-owned Pellegrin Brothers Trucking Service, was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Ribbon. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved working and helping people with boat motors and lawnmowers. He loved talking to his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Duplantis Pellegrin; daughters, Dianna (Roy) Gail Dutton and Yvonne (Woody) Tregre; sons, Bruce Jr. “Beauty” (Sandra), Ricky (Caffie) and Brian (Sonja) Pellegrin; 14 grandchildren, Zina Dion, Wayne Dutton, Gia Champagne, Crystal Arceneaux, Blane Pellegrin, Peggy Sue Dean, Nicole Peterson, April Foret, Chris Kuhn, and Lani, Joshua, Taylor, Brandon and Brett Pellegrin; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Vergis (Janet) Levis Jr. “L.P.” (Billie) and Terry (Gail) Pellegrin; sisters, Ruth Malbrough, Enid (Morris) LeBlanc and Ismay “Blackie” Folse.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Levis Sr. and Edna Boudreaux Pellegrin; one grandson, Roy Patrick Dutton; and one brother-in-law, O’Neal Malbrough Sr.
He is buried at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery.
