Cantrelle D. Shelvin, 31, a native of Terrebonne, La., and a resident of Gibson, La., died Monday, Aug. 31, at 3:30 p.m.
She is survived by her companion, Herbert Jackson; parents, Cora L. Ross and Clayton Shelvin; two daughters, Elise Tyree Jackson and Elana Reese Jackson; three brothers, Clayton Shelvin, Jeremy Shelvin and Treymone Williams; and two sisters, Rasheedah Shelvin and Nicole Williams.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Cortney Jamal Williams; one sister, Ellestine Williams Westley; and grandparents, Elijah Ross Jr. and Gertrude Ross.
She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and a licensed cosmetologist.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Community Funeral Home and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gibson. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church with burial at the church cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
