December 15, 2011Celina Gregoire Martinez, 77, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 6:29 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2011.
Mrs. Martinez was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. Her greatest joy was watching over her grandchildren and looking forward to working at Samanie’s Packing Company with her friends. She was a member of the United Houma Indian Nation.
She is survived by her sons, Ricky, Tomas Jr. and Ernest (Tabitha); daughters, Victoria (Argelio) Valdez and Sandra Martinez; sister, Antoinette Feet; brother, John Gregoire; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tomas Martinez; parents, Pierre and Marie Gregoire; brothers, Paul, Joseph and Pierre Gregoire; and sister, Anna Gregoire
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will be at Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin)
