Charles Edward Lewis, 58, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, Feb. 15.
He is survived by his mother Doretha Lewis and stepmother, Susanna Lewis both of Thibodaux; one daughter, Alisha Carlson and husband Doug; two brothers, John Lewis Jr. and Chris Lewis and wife Maggie; four sisters, Inez Green, Leona Trench and husband Lionel, Lillie Skinner and husband Lawrence and Dagion Streams; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Lewis Sr., one son, John Joseph “J.J.” Higgins; grandparents, Chris and Lily Dean Lewis; Edward Kane and Inez Williams Kane.
He was a member of Allen Chapel AME Church. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran. His hobbies included working his computer, camping and fishing.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Allen Chapel AME Church in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. He will be buried at the church cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
