Charlie “Chisel” Chisley, 60, a native of Raceland, La., and a resident of New Orleans, La., died Friday, February 6.
He is survived by his devoted companion, Victoria Howard of Atlanta, Ga.; daughters, Melinda Howard and Bernetta Howard Galloway and husband Calvin of Atlanta; sons, Charles Howard Sr. of Alexandria, La., and Travis Bench of Orlando, Fl.; sisters, Carolyn Chisley, Gloria Joseph, Delores Wyatt, Beverly Howard, Gayle Chisley and Sedonia Smith all of Raceland, and Mary Gray of LaPlace, La.; brothers, John Chisley of Raceland and Warren Chisley of Gibson, La.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna H. Chisley and Warren Chisley Sr.; and grandparents, Olevia Murray, Cleveland Hogan, Hesta Chisley and Charlie Chisley.
He was Baptist.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, February 13, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Raceland with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
