Thibodaux church finds its place after 10-year expansion
January 12, 2010Daniel Thomas Morris, 60, a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Shreveport, La., died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009.
He graduated Benjamin Franklin High School and Tulane University. He worked for universities in New Orleans and Thibodaux, La., and was a lover of knowledge. He treasured Louisiana, especially New Orleans, with its rich culture and history. He was a resident of Lakeview, La., most of his life and was an avid gardener. He was also known for his genealogy research, especially pertaining to African American history. He will be missed by many friends and family.
He is survived by his sister, Susan (Daniel) Hudson; and nieces and nephews, Charmaine (Richard) Kathmann, Daniel (Debbie) Hudson, Jeannine (Paul) Fugarino, Karen Hudson, and Leslie (Ronnie) Doyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie Naomie Wilder Morris; grandparents, Orlando and Emma Register Morris, and Thomas and Clemence LeBlanc Wilder; and sister, Gloria (Salvador) Mouton.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at Grace Episcopal Church in New Orleans. Interment will be at a later date at Bethel Cemetery in Logansport, La.
