
Cassidy: Louisiana has answers for nation’s woes

June 2, 2011Danny “Coon” Vining, 61, a native of Bayou Lafourche and a resident of Cecilia, La., died at 3:37 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011.
Mr. Vining graduated from South Lafourche High School in 1968. He retired from Baker Oil Tools with over twenty years of service and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was loved by all who knew him and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. Once you met him, you never forgot him because of his caring nature and sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Daigle Vining; daughters, Daisy, Danielle (Season Gomez), Crystal and Dannie Vining; five grandchildren; brothers, Marvin, Joey and Tim (Stephen Donahue) Vining; and sister, Diane Vining.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Vining and the former Una Toups; paternal grandparents, Buck and Henrietta Vining; maternal grandparents, Manuel and Viola Toups; mother-in-law, Nolia Meche Daigle; and one grandson, Maddix Adam Roger.
He is interred at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette, La. (Melancon Funeral Home/Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel)
