David Bruce Bowe, 57, a native of St. Augustine, Florida and resident of Houma, La. died Saturday, October 20, 2007, at 8:24 a.m. of natural causes, after an early morning jog at Terry Hershey Park in Houston, TX.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Broussard Bowe; his parents, Ronald Stafford and Virginia Young Bowe; four sons, Damon Bowe, Collin Bowe, Kyle Bowe, and Sean Bowe; one daughter, Heather LeBlanc and her husband Brent; one sister, Ronda Wages and her husband George; his mother-in-law, Mary Bamford Broussard; five nieces, Shane, Erin, Carrie, Kellin, and Ashley; two aunts, Connie Harbin and Lydia Lindberg; and one uncle, Earle Bowe.
David was a loving husband to his wife Karen for 33 years and a devout Episcopalian and a parishioner of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Houma and Emanuel Episcopal Church in Houston. He was the Director, Corporate Insurance and Risk Management, for McDermott International, Inc. He joined McDermott in May of 1981 as an Insurance Risk Administrator. After working at Travelers Insurance for seven years. David held numerous important positions during his 26-year tenure at McDermott including: Supervisor, Insurance Risk Manager, Insurance Risk; and global Personnel Director. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1973 and a Masters in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana in 1977. He held a number of professional certifications relevant to his positions at McDermott including a recent designation as a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist. He was extremely active with the United Way, St. Matthews Episcopal Church and School, and other community service organizations.
Visitation is Thursday, October 25, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at St. Matthews Episcopal Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Bowe Children Education Fund at any Chase Bank or Mrs. David Bowe, 108 Krumbhaar Drive, Houma, La.
