
Documenting wells leads to cleanup

September 29, 2011Delores Rhodes DeRoche, 82, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 4:12 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2011.
Mrs. DeRoche was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. She was a retired realtor and homemaker and will always be remembered for her loving, caring and generous nature. She leaves behind a strong bond with the people she enjoyed and loved.
She is survived by her sons, Clarence Jr. and Barry (Jackie) DeRoche and Prentiss III (Debbie) Freeman; daughters, Bonnie (Ordis III) Smith, Dawn (David) Henry and Susan (Wayne) Vowell; brothers, Irwin Jr. (Geraldine), Donald (Thelma) and Danny (Judy) Rhodes; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence DeRoche Sr.; and parents, Irwin and Lillian Rhodes.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, and 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Chauvin Funeral Home with Liturgy of the Word to follow. Burial will be at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. (Chauvin)
