February 2, 2010Derek “Shawee” Joseph Griffin, 19, a native and resident of Lockport, La., died at 5:08 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010.
Mr. Griffin enjoyed fishing, hunting and listening to music.
He is survived by his parents, David and Jane Griffin; grandmother, Josephine Lee; nephews, Milton Pereda, Rhett, Ethan and Joel Orgeron; nieces, Angela Pereda and Rana Orgeron; uncle, Carl Hebert; brothers, Joshua (Maura) and Ron (Susan) Orgeron; godchild, Treyvene Alan; sister, Darcy Griffin; godparents, Matthew J. Hebert, Richard Griffin and Sandra Griffin; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Wilma H. Hebert; grandfathers, Lorris Griffin and Nolan Hebert; and uncle, Doyle Hebert.
