Diana M. James, 34, a native and resident of Paincourtville, La., died at her home Tuesday, September 25, 2007.
She is survived by one daughter, Amanda Davis and her husband Louis; three sons, Bruce Melancon, Sr., Tony Melancon and his wife Karen, and Israel James, Jr. and his wife Nadira; two sisters, Everlina Mollere and Joyce Hargrove; three brothers, Isadore Melancon, Clennard Melancon, and Roland Melancon; 10 grandchildren; and numerous relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Israel James Sr.; her parents, Elphage and Alice Melancon; three sisters, Leona Holmes, Marcel Williams and Octavia Johnson; and three brothers, Norman, Joseph, and Alfred Melancon.
Diana was a former employee of the Assumption Parish Health Unit for 34 years.
Visitation is Friday, September 28, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 29, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at St. Charles Baptist Church in Paincourtville. She will be buried in the church cemetery.
Williams and Southall Funeral Home are in Charge of the arrangements.
