Dichason J. Theriot, 82, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died Friday, June 26, at 7:03 p.m.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eula Mae Griffin Theriot; daughters, Linda Theriot Guidry and husband Morris, and Grace Theriot LaViolette and husband Rusty; sisters, Loredia Terrebonne and Bel Duet; grandchildren, Richelle Guidry Rousse and husband Lonnie, Renata Guidry and Kristie LaViolette; and great-grandchild, Segan “Lil Cat” Rousse.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Evada Theriot; foster mother, Celima Plaisance; and sisters, Lucie Theriot and Enola “LaLa” Meador.
He was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy having served on the minesweeper U.S.S. Hazard AM 240 during World War II. He was the owner of Theriot Supply Company and Theriot Electrical and Refrigeration Contractors. He was a member of the Lafourche Masonic Lodge #427 F&AM, Golden Meadow Rotary Club and the American Legion. He was an avid fisherman and trawler and enjoyed camping. Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
