Donald P. Powell, 74, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 5:40 p.m.
He is survived by two daughters, Donnell P. and husband Hugh Louviere, and Stephanie Powell Rodrigue; one brother, Ed Powell; one sister, Geri Powell Bonvillian; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Beulah Pontiff Powell; maternal grandparents, Wicliff and Clara Blanchard Pontiff; paternal grandparents, Edward and Lena Prejean Powell; and twin brother, Dan Powell Sr.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Woodmen of the World. He loved golfing, dancing and cooking. He was a parishioner of St. Gregory Church.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at St. Anthony Padua Church with the funeral service to follow. Entombment will be at St. Francis II Mausoleum.
Falgout Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
