Doris Rounds Ross, 67, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Gretna, La., died Thursday, Oct. 15, at 6:05 p.m.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent Ross of Gretna; one son, Dwayne Rounds and wife Amanda of Gretna; one daughter, Sonja Barber Johnson and husband Dionell of Algiers, La.; three sisters, Ruby Cheatteam, Diana Cheatteam and Betty Duplessis, all of Harvey, La.; two brothers, Rev. James Cheatteam and wife Shannon, and Alvin Cheatteam of Harvey; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Welton Rounds and Beatrice Frye Cheatteam; stepfather, Adolph Cheatteam Sr.; four brothers, Adolph Cheatteam Jr., Larry Cheatteam, Garrison Cheatteam and Sidney Cheatteam; one sister Helen Reynolds; grandparents, Thomas and Ceclia Hawkins Frye; and great-granddaughter, Chloe Mckenzie Sullivan.
She was a member of Jesus is Lord Evangelistic Ministries Church in Gretna. Her hobbies included cooking and volunteering at the community center.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Jesus is Lord Evangelist Ministry Church with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Zion Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Thibodaux.
Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
