March 19, 2014Doris Vickers Spangle, 91, a native of Pasadena, Texas, and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, March 10, 2014.
Mrs. Spangle’s life was a testament to the love and devotion she gave her husband, daughters and grandchildren. Football season was always eagerly anticipated because of LSU. She was a member of the Newcomers Bridge Group for 47 years and First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Marcy Spangle and Pamela (William) Capell; sister, Ida Muskiet; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Spangle Jr.; parents, Charles and Ruth Vickers; son, Frank Spangle III; brothers, Harold and Jack Vickers; and sister, Eloise Greensage.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at First United Methodist Church with services to follow. Burial will be at Terrebonne Memorial Park. (Chauvin)
