Dorothy Mae Coleman Taylor, 74, a native of Valentine, La., and a resident of Raceland, La., died Friday, September 26.
She is survived by her husband, Sidney Taylor of Raceland; five daughters, Nona Rodgers of Slaughter, Ca., Shirley Robinson of Raceland, Debra Johnson of Hammond, La., Evelina Cormier of Boutte, La., and Diana Bellard of Baker Ca.; three sons, Sidney Taylor Jr., of Reserve, La., Richard Taylor Sr., of Lake Charles, La., and David Taylor of New Orleans, La.; one brother, Rev. Henry Dunklin of Marrero, La.; 23 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelina and Oscar Coleman; one son, Ronald Taylor; one sister, Leontine Mims; one brother, James Dunklin; and grandparents, Sally Reed and Madison Moses.
She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board. She loved serving and helping people in the community. She also loved water sports.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 4, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Raceland with a religious service to follow. She will be buried at Young Ladies Benevolent Cemetery in Raceland.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
