Benjamin joins CIS surgical staff

Dorothy Mae Hadley, 80, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Saturday, April 19.
She is survived by her sons, Captain Herbert Marts Hadley, United States Navy and wife Willean of Jacksonville, Fl., Jonathan James Hadley and wife Debera of Picayune, Ms., and Sidney Joseph Hadley and wife Coretta of Raceland; brother, Eddie Hadley Jr. and wife Emma of Raceland; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Sr. and Loretta Gertrude Marts Hadley; son, Edward Andrew Hadley; sisters, Lucinda Hadley and Eletha Hadley; brother, Herbert Hadley; grandparents, Ed and Lucinda Shields Hadley and Sidney and Isabella Courtney Marts; and grandson, Edward Andrew Hadley.
She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church and served as the church secretary for over 40 years. She was also a member of the Young Ladies Benevolent Association and a member of the Gym Club. Her hobbies included quilting, gardening, sewing and collecting.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Raceland with a religious service to follow. She will be buried at church cemetery.
