Douglas John Suire, 69, a native of Gueydan, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Friday, January 30, at 5:45 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Olivier Suire; sons, Douglas “Gerard” Suire and wife Trenace, Kerry Suire and wife Cheryl, and Damon Suire; daughters, Gay Lynn Henry and husband Harris, and Krystal Pitre and husband James; brothers, Andrew and Freddie Suire; sisters, Gladys Comeaux, Wanda LaPointe, Nola Hebert, Lola Suire, Norma Cormier, Mary Saltzman and Agnes Suire; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Onize Suire and Agnes Landry Suire; brothers, Henry, Harris and Clifford Suire; and sisters, Elmina James and Annie Mae James.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, February 2, at St. Gregory Church in Houma with mass to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis #2 Cemetery.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
