Duncan “Kank” Veal, 79, a native of St. Francisville, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 11.
He is survived by his wife, Estelle Newman Veal of Houma; son, Micheal Veal of St. Francisville; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Veal Sr. and Edna Sheffett Veal; brothers, John Veal Jr., the Rev. Lafayette Sr., Douglas Veal Sr. and Nolan Veal Sr.; and sisters, Harriett Williams, Anna Berry, Elizabeth Veal, Sally Jackson and Gertrude Veal.
He was a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church.
He was buried at Southdown Cemetery.
Gertrude Geddes Willis Terrebonne Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
