Earl “Big Daddy” Johnson, 81, a native and resident of Gray, La., died Monday, April 19, 2010.

Mr. Johnson was a retired Lafourche Parish Government employee and South Down Sugar Refinery laborer. He was also a deacon at Eagle Wright Baptist Church and a member of the male chorus.

He is survived by daughters, Terry (Edward) Hill, Theresa Jones, Felicia Frank, Lorraine Jupiter, Robyn (Charles) Moreka, Perna (Patrice) Johnson and Stephanie Gross; sister, Carrie Mae (Frank) Richards; sons, Earl Jr. (Carolyn), Carl Johnson and Stephen Dorsey; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives.

He is buried at Mt. Olive Baptist Cemetery in Gray.
