Eddie J. Blanchard Jr., 80, a native of Napoleonville, La., and resident of Larose, La., died at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, March, 6, 2012.
Mr. Blanchard was a former coach, educator and superintendent of Lafourche Parish Public Schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a former board member of the Larose Civic Center, an active member of the local community and an avid Tulane Green Wave fan.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois Blanchard; children, Becky (Dean) Rogers, Mel (Bryan) Duet, Eddie III (Risa) Blanchard, Allison (Joey) Fullilove, Celeste (Michael Jr.) Cuneo and Susan (Bryan) Curole; sister, Joyce Torres; and 19 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Sr. and Dora Blanchard; and siblings, Lois Hargis and Raymond Blanchard.
Interment was at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Larose. (Falgout)
