Edith Johnson, 76, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, January 26.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Johnson Harry of Thibodaux; sons, Alvin Paul Johnson Jr. of Raceland, La., and Lionel Johnson of Thibodaux; sisters, Emelda Williams of Omaha, Ne., and Carrie Ellis of Thibodaux; brothers, Nolan Washington Sr. and Louis Washington of Thibodaux and Stanley Washington of Kansas City, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Paul Johnson Sr.; parents, Willie Sr., and Mary Alice Washington; and brothers, Willie Washington Jr.; Norman Washington and Hollis Washington Sr.
She was a member of St. Peter Baptist Church in Thibodaux and was a member of the Pastor’s Aid Club. She enjoyed cooking.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, January 31, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at St. Peter Baptist Church Cemetery in Thibodaux.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
