Bayou Cane uses grant money for fire safety
October 7, 2010Edward A. Daigle Jr., 81, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died at 1:40 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2010.
Mr. Daigle was a parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church. He was a graduate of University of Louisiana-Lafayette, and a member of the Lafourche Parish School Board, the Lafourche Parish Teachers Association and an original founder and volunteer for the Lafourche Parish Good Samaritan Food Bank & Thrift Store. He touched many lives at Raceland High School, Central Lafourche High School and Holy Savior School as a teacher, guidance counselor and principal. He enjoyed playing cards and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Talbot Daigle; son, David (Deborah) Daigle; daughter, Nanette (Eddie) Rhea; a host of nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren, Lauren Hernandez, Zachary, Spencer and Pierce Daigle and Jack, Logan and Lucas Rhea; and three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Sophia and Lila Hernandez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Sr. and Eugenie Matherne Daigle; one grandchild, William Edward Daigle; and one sister, Sylvia Daigle Hargis.

He is buried at St. Mary Cemetery.
