December 23, 2011Effie LeBoeuf LeCompte, 91, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011.
Mrs. LeCompte was parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church, a member of the Catholic Daughters and a member of the Ladies Kaycee Auxiliary. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who loved to cook and bake cakes for her family.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Sr. (Bonna) and Kenneth LeCompte; daughters, Katha (Danny) Rogers and Sandrea (Keith) Rush; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William LeCompte; parents, Charles and Mable LeBoeuf; brothers, J.C., Chester, Allen and Randolf LeBoeuf; sisters, Jeanne Hebert, Verna Trahan and Lorena Duplantis; grandson, Gary LeCompte Jr.; great-grandson, Gary LeCompte III; and great-great-granddaughter, Kaliya LeCompte.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. (Chauvin)
