Eileen Carter McKerall, 92, a native of Reynolds County, Mo., and a resident of Lockport, La., died Friday, October 31.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary McKerall and husband Richard Steele of Houston, Tx.; one son, Joe McKerall and wife Charlene Stein McKerall of Schriever, La.; two brothers, Bill Carter of St. Louis, Mo., and Sanford Carter of Ellington, Mo.; her grandchildren, Jane Steele and husband Andrew Jones, Byron Steele, Lacey McKerall and Joey McKerall; her dear friend, Bessie Claudet; and her devoted caregivers, Sandra and Frank Curole, Crystal Parker and Faith and Hallie Parker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Josiah Danforth McKerall; her parents, Samuel Eugene and Claudia Johnson Carter; and her sisters, Geneva C. Fausek and Betty C. Coy.
She attended Teacher’s College at Southwest Missouri State Normal School in Springfield, Mo., and taught in Carter County one-room schools for several years. She was well known in her community for restoring antiques, needle point, quilting and cooking, especially her baked from scratch pies. She was a charter member of Strafford Missouri Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Memorial United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 29, at Memorial United Methodist Church in Mathews, La. Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery in Springfield, Mo.
