Elgin Joseph Lirette Jr., 51, a native of Chauvin, La., and a resident of Anderson, Al., died Sunday, May 11, at 8:38 p.m.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Josephine Elizabeth Boudreaux Lirette; children; Sandy Hebert and husband Mitch, Elgin Paul Lirette Sr. and wife Rene; Celeste Rodrigue and husband Ryan, Jordan Lirette and Sarah Lirette; brothers and sisters, Sharon Cheramie and husband Wilson, Richard Lirette, Elizabeth (Liz) Jordan and husband Vern, Michael Lirette and wife Marlene and Norma Lirette and fiancé Danny Daigle; grandchildren, Mitchell Hebert Jr., Heather Hebert, Hannah Hebert, Elgin Paul Lirette Jr., David Lirette, Austin Lirette, Alice Lirette, Chase Sevin, and Christan Sevin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elgin (Bute) and Betty Trahan Lirette; grandparents, Elgar and Leona Lirette and Avison and Delta Trahan; and his mother-in-law, Alice Thibodeaux.
He was a truck driver for ACE Transportation in Houma, La. He was a wonderful husband, a great dad and an awesome grandpa.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at Bayou Blue Assembly of God with a religious service to follow.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
