February 18, 2014Elias Joseph “Toot” Levron, 84, a native of Pointe-aux-Chene, La., and resident of Montegut, La., died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014.
Mr. Levron was employed with Texaco for 31 years as a tug boat captain. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member and past commander of American Legion Post 272. He was a third degree Knight in St. Charles Borromeo Council 8616 and a past member of the Montegut Children’s Carnival Club and Bonne Terre Carnival Club. He was an usher at St. Charles Borromeo Church and a dedicated father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
He is survived by his sons, Carter (Betti) and Brad (Donna) Levron; daughter, Sharon (Richard) Griffin; sister, Nancy (James) Hebert; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Levron; parents, Augustin and Naise Levron; son, Phil Levron; daughter, Darla Gautreaux; and sister, Vivian Belanger.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at St. Charles Borromeo Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Charles Borromeo Church Cemetery. (Samart)
