Ella Mae Johnson Etheridge, 73, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Gibson, La., died Tuesday, January 29, 2008.
She is survived by her husband, Minister Edward Etheridge; son, Ulysses Short Jr.; daughters, Susie S. Guillory and Christina Walcott; brother, James Johnson and wife, Jean; sister, Dolly Short and husband, Norris Sr.; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby Johnson Sr. and Agnes Nash Johnson; daughter, Ernestine S. Ross; brothers, Henry Nash Sr., Thomas Nash Sr., Shelby Johnson Jr., Robert Johnson and Shelby Johnson III; and sisters, Margie N. Givens, Elnora N. Cambor, Yvette N. Patrick, Sedonia Johnson and Sarah Johnson.
Ella was a cook with the Terrebonne Parish School Board and a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church with funeral services to follow. She will be buried in the church cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
