Protection vital for future, locals tell Mabus

Emily Babin Dufrene, 76, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died on Friday, Aug. 13, 2010.
She is survived by her sons, Glenn “Stockdale” (Rhonda), Craig (Gail) Dufrene; daughters, Myra (Chris) Savoie and Beth (Greg) Melancon; brother, Norman Babin; sister, Maudry Breaux; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Dufrene; parents, Sidney and Beatrice Foret Babin; and one sister, Alice Mae Mayet.
She is buried at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church.
