Essie Mae Cortez, 82, a native and resident of Kraemer, La., died at 10:05 a.m. Saturday, July 26.
She is survived by one son, Paul Cortez; three daughters, Geraldine Bertrand, Joyce Kraemer and Cheryl Mahler; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Cortez; her parents, John and Rose Granier; one son, Schuyler Cortez; four brothers, Emmett, Jessie, Vance and Daniel Granier; and three sisters, Hazel, Laura and Odette Cortez.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church in Kraemer with mass to follow. She will be buried at the church cemetery.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
