Eugene John Champagne Jr., 90, a native and resident of Theriot, La., died Wednesday December 10, at 2:58 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Raymonde Lemor Champagne of Theriot; sons, Albert Champagne of Bayou Dularge, La. and Philippe Champagne of Bayou Dularge; daughters, Evelyn Hall and husband John of Abbeville, La., and Loraine Duhe’ and husband Roy of Madison, Ms.; sister, Virgie Lee LeBeouf of Houma, La.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene John Champagne Sr. and Noicia Theriot Champagne; brothers, Lawrence Champagne and Laban Champagne; and sisters, Lydie Chauvin, Eva Labbe and Inez Orgeron.
He was a retired school teacher with the Terrebonne Parish School Board for 26 years and a retired vegetable farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of St. Eloi Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday December 11, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 12 p.m. 2 p.m. Friday December 12, at St. Eloi Catholic Church. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church with burial at St. Eloi Catholic Church Cemetery.
