Eugene Joseph Dugas, 81, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Monday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m.

He is survived by two daughters, Rosary Dugas and Mary D. Croker; three brothers, Wilson Dugas Jr., Allen Dugas and wife Audrey, and Roland Dugas and wife Mildred; two sisters, Carman Bussey and husband Stanley, and Lyllian Dugas; two granddaughters, Jennifer Ratliff and Cassie Plaia and husband Corp. Leo L. Plaia III; and four great-grandchildren, Gage Ratliff, Alesi Croker, Zoey Landry and Alayna Plaia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Alesi Dugas; parents, Wilson Sr. and Carman Porrier Dugas; one son, Michael Dugas; one brother, Lawrence Dugas; and two sisters, Ollie D. Fanguy and Mildred Dugas.

He was Catholic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Samart Funeral Home in Houma with a religious memorial service to follow.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
